Time period: 130 ma Early Cretaceous. Named by: Steve Hutt et al. - 2001. Notable for being an early Tyrannosaurid from Western Europe, Eotyrannus is an anomaly among Tyrannosaur species, which are normally found in North America or Asia. With a light build and longer arms for grasping prey, Eotyrannus is one of the smaller species in its family, but may be most closely related to Yutyrannus.
